From one bucket to the next, rainwater is slowed and shared. The ‘Bucket Brigade’ concept relates to the idea of people coming together as a community to share work for a common cause. Bucket Brigade is located on the north side of the East Multnomah Soil and Water Conservation District building. It is intended to be an icon for conservation efforts and inspire homeowners to be creative with their stormwater. In this installation, stormwater travels from the downspout at the roof through a series of bucket planters growing Pacific Northwest native plants.
